About Our Elliptical Cross Trainers
Lifespan Fitness Cross Trainers are fitted with a flywheel either at the front drive or rear drive. The motion of a front drive vs rear drive elliptical is different, with the rear drive providing a more rounded up and down stride whilst the front drive creates a flatter, more natural stride. The flat smooth motion of a front drive is largely due to the dual roller guides that cause the pedals to roll backwards and forwards along the rail as you pedal, creating less interruptions. Whereas a rear drive pedal follows the shape of the cross-trainer body lending itself to a forwards direction producing a downhill motion whilst pedalling.
Elliptical Cross Trainers FAQ
Ellipticals and cross trainers are actually just two names for the same thing.
This will depend on the model, but most Lifespan Fitness ellipticals will have around 15-20 levels of resistance to choose from, so you can customise your workout to your needs. Most of our cross trainers use Variable Automatic Resistance, which allows you to instantly change resistance with the touch of a button.
Only some of our ellipticals and cross trainers have incline, so make sure to check the product description if you would like this feature. Incline activates different parts of the body, allowing you to target an even wide range of muscles.
This will depend on which model you're using, but cross trainers from Lifespan Fitness are designed with a belt drive system that is quieter and less intrusive, perfect for apartments.
Most of our ellipticals come with workout programs that run you through automatic resistance changes and intervals for a care-free workout. They'll also keep track of key fitness metrics such as pulse, cadence, calories burned and more.
